TR man gets 17-year prison sentence

A Three Rivers man was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for his involvement in the shooting of a woman last year.

Lee Parker Jr., 22, was sentenced for one count of assault with intent to murder as well as felony firearms from an April 2020 incident with a 17-year-old woman. His sentence was issued in St. Joseph County Circuit Court and comes with a maximum of 60 years.

Parker was found guilty in a June jury trial. The incident originated in an area near the River Trail apartment complex in Three Rivers.

The victim of the shooting survived after suffering a gunshot wound to her head.

Parker fled the scene but was found in the 300 block of Erie Street.
