Michigan coronavirus cases down

Michigan reported more than 16,400 new cases of coronavirus in the week ending July 24, a decrease from nearly 16,700 the week before of the virus that causes COVID-19.

St. Joseph County confirmed 60 cases and one death in the latest weekly report. A week earlier, it had reported 72 cases and one death. Throughout the pandemic, it has reported 14,320 cases and 211 deaths.

The highest rate of cases per-capita were in Gogebic, Keweenaw and Dickinson counties. Cases fell in 38 Michigan counties, with the steepest declines in Oakland, Ingham and Washtenaw counties.
