John Weed, 73

John R. Weed, age 73 of Vicksburg, died on October 4, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born March 29, 1949 in Three Rivers, a son of Raymond and June (Burkett) Weed. John graduated from Centreville High School in 1967. From 1967 to 1969 he served in the United States Army in Vietnam. John worked as a carpenter for Steve Weed Builders and Guy Stieglitz Builders for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid history buff, and a true American Patriot. John loved spending time with his family, especially the grand kids.

Surviving are his son Daniel (Jenn) Weed, Vicksburg, grandchildren Dessa Weed, Dailey June Weed and Dylan Hartzell, sister Lynn Roberts, Vicksburg, brother Steve (Lois) Weed, Three Rivers, nephew David (Diane) Weed, nieces Trisha (Robert) Brown, and Marilyn (Terry) Horsley.

John was preceded in death by his parents and Daniel’s mother Julie Ann Middleton.

Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Friday October 21, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. A graveside service at Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
