Martha Rehm, 87

Martha (Perry) Rehm left her earthly home to spend eternity with Jesus on Saturday, October 1, 2022, with her children by her side. She was born in Sturgis to J Carleton Perry and Louise (Whitman) Perry on January 2, 1935. Martha graduated from Sturgis High School in 1953 and attended Michigan State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1957 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She then taught in the school systems of Battle Creek, Comstock, and Sturgis before leaving education to become a homemaker.

Martha was a member of the Sturgis Hospital Auxiliary, the Junior Women’s League, and numerous bridge clubs. She retired from Sturgis Hospital after many years of employment in the pharmacy, a job she truly loved. Martha was always an avid sports fan, and supported her MSU Spartans with great enthusiasm. She also cheered on the athletic abilities of her grandchildren, and was a familiar face at numerous high school tennis, hockey, basketball, volleyball, and track & field competitions in Southwest Michigan, as well as high school baseball in Texas.

She is survived by her brother Philip (Carol) Perry, and her three children, their spouses, and nine grandchildren: Jeffery Rehm (Michelle) of Ft. Myers, Florida, and their children: Nicholas Terry, J C. Rehm, Courtney (Rehm) Holton, and Natalie Rehm; Cynthia Billings (Robert) of Lakeway, Texas, and their son Grant; and Michael Rehm (Elsie) of Sturgis, and their children: Martha (Rehm) Breck, Nick, Lilly, and Samuel Rehm. Martha is also survived by two great-grandsons, Reagan and Noah Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents.
