Milo Wood, 84

Milo Edward Wood, age 84, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday evening, November 2, 2022 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

He was born November 3, 1937 son of the late Melvin and Eva Wood.

Milo had been employed by the Weyerhaeuser Company in Middlebury for 18 years until the company closed. He had also worked at Litho Printers and Michiana Containers, both in Sturgis, and Lake Park Industries in Shipshewana.

He enjoyed his horses, hunting, fishing, and working on cars.

Milo is survived by three daughters: Christina (Jeff) Hays of Sturgis, Dodee (Roger) Mains of Three Rivers and Roxanne (Dale) Barron of Florida; nine grandchildren: Amy (Chad) Claar, Amber (Jason) Hopkins, Alyse Hays all of Sturgis, Garrett (Mersadies) Mains of Patuxent River, Maryland, Wyatt Mains of Three Rivers, April Barron of Colon, William Barron of Florida, Joshua Wood of Sturgis and Honey Wood of Howe, Indiana; 16 great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Braedyn, Emyrson Claar, Collin, Caleb, Calleigh Claar, Jaedyn, Mckade and Avery Milliman, Garrett, Jr. and Grayson Mains, Darrann and Madelynn Fergison, William Barron, Jr., Jacob Wood and Jozlyn Walter; one brother: Clarence (Laura) Wood of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Michael Wood; grandson: Ryan Hays; sister: Betty Kane and brothers: James Wood and Charles Wood.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and honor the life of Milo Wood will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 18th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. Private burial of the remains will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
