Kevin Neal, 65

Kevin Arlin Neal, age 65, of Kalamazoo, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at home.

He was born in Kalamazoo on July 27, 1957 the son of Stanley Neal-Beverly Arlene (Perkins) and devoted step-father, James L. Perkins, Sr.

On May 4, 1991, in Portage, he married Janet Marie Oestrike who preceded him in death.

Kevin was a retired technician, working for Kalamazoo Water Dept. He also served in the United States Navy from 1975-1979.

Kevin enjoyed going to the toy show in Kalamazoo twice a year and restoring action figures from the 60’s. He was a cartoonist, loved wood working, and making cabinets, chests and stools for his nephews and nieces, he was a very creative and genuine person.

Kevin is survived by his daughter; Ashlea Baker of Kalamazoo; siblings; Dane Neal, Moreen (Bradley) Horsford of Jackson, Shawn (Sybil) Neal of Kalamazoo, James (Heather) Perkins, Jr. of Parchment, Tracy (Greg) Perkins-McInnis of Kalamazoo, and good friend Mickey Baker of Kalamazoo, and many nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his wife; Janet, parents; Stanley Neal, Beverly Perkins and James Lee Perkins, Sr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 North, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 1:00.
