Glen Oaks study abroad will head to Peru

Glen Oaks Community College has announced its 2024 study abroad group will travel to Peru.

Members of the community are invited to come along.

The 10-day trip, offered through the student travel firm Explorica, includes stops in Lima, Cuzco and Machu Pichu. The itinerary includes visits to the government palace and city hall in Lima; Cuzco Cathedral, Plaza de Armas, Korikancha Temple and a tour of the city while in Cuzco; and travel to the famous Machu Pichu.

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in everything from visiting cathedrals and temples to jungle hikes, and Peruvian cooking and pottery classes.

Michael Northrop, professor of art, said group sizes average 10 to 15 people.
