Bob Reetz, 73

Robert Whitfield Reetz, age 73, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at Beacon Health System – Three Rivers.

He was born November 4, 1949 in Rochester, New York, the son of Harry and Maxine Reetz, and graduated from Irondequoit High School with the Class of 1967. A chemist by trade, Bob graduated with a degree in Physics from Purdue University in 1971. He worked at Hudson Valley Polymers and Republic Roller.

In the summer of 1971 Bob married Jane Broker. The two shared forty-five years of marriage until her passing in 2017. They enjoyed traveling, gardening together and spending time with their family. Remaining to cherish his memory are two sons, Nathan and Jonathan, his brother Bill, his sister Barbara, and his three granddaughters – Katherine, Margaret and Patricia. Bob loved playing golf every week with his friends, his brother, and his two sons.

Bob was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and played bass in the Sunday service for many years. Bob was a very talented bass player as a member of the Milwaukee Symphony, the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra and a number of other bands. He was a long time member of the Three Rivers Lions Club. Bob was integral in the development of Three Rivers HarmonyFest which just celebrated its 30th year.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St. Three Rivers, MI. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 at the funeral home with Pastor James Smith officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service at the Three Rivers Lions Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be directed to Three Rivers Lions Club. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

  1. I am sad to hear of Bob’s death! I too was a HarmonyFest Committee member and Bob always offered a steady, business mindset to this event.
    Take good care beloved family. I am sorry to miss his service as I am in FA with my mother. Sending you all peaceful thought of your fine brother, dad, and father.
