Centreville McDonald’s closing doors

A fast-food destination for more than 25 years in Centreville is closing at the end of the month.

Jim and Laura Maynard, owners/operators of the Centreville McDonald’s, announced to staff last week the restaurant’s last day is Oct. 31. Jim Maynard was vague on details, stating only that the move was made as a financial decision.

The Maynards have owned and operated the Centreville store since 2008. It opened in the late 1990s under McDonald’s corporation.

Maynard said the Centreville store employs about 40 people and they have been given the option to transfer to White Pigeon or their other locations outside St. Joseph County.

The Maynards still own and operate locations in Albion, Battle Creek, Coldwater, Hillsdale, Jonesville, Marshall, Quincy and White Pigeon.
