Decrease in unemployment rate – November

November’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by more than a full percentage point from October.

Figures from the monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 4.6 percent in October to 3.5 percent in November. The county’s November rate from a year earlier was an even 4 percent.

In addition, Cass County also experienced a drop in its unemployment figures from October to November. Its October rate was 4.3 percent and lowered to 3.6 percent a month later.

Meanwhile, Branch County’s one-month unemployment rate fell in November from the previous month. It was 3.8 percent in October and dropped to 3.1 percent in November.

Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 3.6 percent, down from 4.2 percent in October.
