Fundraiser at Camp Eberhart

Camp Eberhart is taking part in a match challenge to renovate one of its legacy buildings.

“Dave’s House,” a structure built more than 90 years ago to honor a camper who passed away, is in need of repairs and a new fundraiser aims to support an upgrade.

An anonymous donor has stepped in, agreeing to match $125,000 of funds raised by YMCA of Michiana.

Camp Eberhart Director Denise Peters said Dave’s House was built to memorialize a camper, David Warner Jr., who passed away in the summer of 1931. It now stands as a hub for the arts and a space for social growth.

Patti Green, the director of fund development for YMCA Camp Eberhart, said the camp would like to have the funds raised in enough time to complete renovations before this summer.
