Animal Control receives donation

Three Rivers Arby’s recently made a donation to St. Joseph County Animal Control.

Sheriff’s department Capt. TJ Baker said $2,040 was turned over the Centreville-based agency.

Baker said the restaurant, starting last November, began collecting money by asking customers if they would care to round up the cost of their order to the nearest dollar. Proceeds were turned over to animal control March 8 during a ceremony at the restaurant and featuring Baker, undersheriff Jason Bingaman, Arby’s general manager Hope Hiller, shift manager Laura Hiller and area supervisor Stephen Goldman.

Baker said Arby’s agreed to re-start the fundraiser and hopes to exceed the amount collected during the previous drive.
