Lee Crotser, 82

Charles Lee Crotser, age 82, of rural Scotts, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 20, 2024. He was born in Vicksburg on October 3, 1941 the son of the late Charles Wayne Crotser and Elaine (Fenwick) Crotser. Lee, as he was called, graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School with the class of 1959. He was married to Joyce E. Young on April 19, 1962 in Kalamazoo.  She preceded him in death on August 7, 1968. He served as a Kalamazoo City Police Officer for fourteen years before establishing his own dairy farm near Scotts. He later owned and operated Lee’s Lawn and Garden in Vicksburg, and after its closing, he began Lee’s Outdoor Power from his home near Scotts.

Lee was a spiritual man, and over his lifetime served in several churches, including Prairie Baptist, Wakeshma Baptist, West Leroy Bible, and Crossroads Missionary Church. He is currently a member of the Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Vicksburg. Lee enjoyed hunting, motorcycling, caring for his animals, and had a knack for finding the right quote from scripture for a particular situation and that would reflect his strong family values. He also enjoyed firework displays; the bigger and louder the better!

Lee was married to Linda Irene West on December 6, 1968 in Vicksburg. She survives along with four daughters, Wendy (Rob) Mohr of Scotts, Gayle (Ross) Porter of Marcellus, Holley (John) Cousins of Vicksburg, and Shawn Wood of Mendon; seven grandchildren, Amber Alderson, Clayton (Natalie) Mohr, Cody (Amber) Cousins, Shane Cousins, Nathaniel Porter, Zackery Porter, and Aidan Jones; two great-grandchildren, Evilynn Mohr and Isaac Mohr; two sisters, Janice (Wilbur) Gose and Martha (Bill) Reenders.
