Matt was born November 19, 1982, to Richard and Dianna (Frye) Gregory in Sturgis. He graduated from Centreville High School in 2001. In 2014 He married the love of his life Katie (Smith) Gregory who survives him.

His Parents, brothers David (Heather) Gregory, Jon (Holly) Gregory, nieces Haley (Josh) Johnloz, Autumn Johnloz, Avery Smith, nephews Daniel Frye, Jonny, Harrison, and Benson Gregory, Carson Johnloz, Colton, Graham, and Wyatt Smith. Matt was a LOVER of all things outdoors and loved sharing his love of the outdoors with his daughter Haven sharing his hunting experiences and respect for the animal. There was only one place you could find Matt on November 15th at any time of day. Matt was One of a Kind, anyone who knew him knew he would be the first person to be there if needed. One of the best memories of Matt is him hunting with his brothers and dad, meeting at mom’s house for lunch after and talking about “the one that got away.”

Seeing him grow as a father and husband was a privilege to witness, Matt loved nothing more than his wife and daughters, he loved with his whole heart, he was compassionate and loving to everyone he knew.

Matt was an active member of Verse X Verse Church where he was a member of the men’s bible study. Matt loved the Lord and expressed it freely to anyone who wanted to hear the word.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00, funeral to follow at 12:00 at Hohner Funeral Home.
