James “Jamie” Louis Kasey, Jr., age 71, of White Pigeon, left his earthly home to sing and dance among the stars, Friday, August 30, 2024, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years Lynne A. Kasey; daughters: Lindsay Kasey and Melissa Kasey; grandson Orion Kasey; granddaughter: Quinn; sister: Tamara (Jim) Jarrow; brother: Ben (Karen) Kasey. Jamie also had close relationships with his nieces and nephews. Gozer, his constant meal partner, will greatly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father James L. Kasey, Sr; mother: Patricia Kasey; brothers: Michael, David and Dennis Kasey and sister: Katie Petry.
Jamie was employed at Cunneo Press, Haynes International where he completed his apprenticeship as a machine repairman in record time. He took those skills to Delphi. It was there after working several years in maintenance he took a supervisory position where he stayed until retiring in 2007 and moved to White Pigeon.
He had many interests, most of which involved things with a motor. Jamie ran a sprint car operation for several years. There were many successes, and many lifelong friends made.
Jamie also had a love for music and loved to sing. His family gatherings always included group sing-along with Jamie as the soloist, some of which were epic. “Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer.”
He will be missed.
In honoring Jamie’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, Sept. 6th at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis. Private remembrance will be at a later date.
