More information released in fatal crash

St. Joseph County Prosecutor David Marvin has released the name of the suspect of a two-car crash that killed a Constantine couple.

Marvin said Rayheim Rajaai Robinson, a 22-year-old White Pigeon resident, faces two counts of reckless driving causing death and driving on a suspended license causing death, related to an incident in Florence Township.

Authorities were called at 9:30 a.m. November 3rd to an area along Sevison Road, near the intersection of Mintdale Road.

Investigators said Robinson was driving north on Sevison Road when he lost control. The vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a southbound pickup.

The pickup driver, 60-year-old Ronda Arndt and her husband, 51-year-old Shawn Arndt, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Robinson was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Before the crash, police allegedly tried to pull over Robinson in an area on U.S. 131, but he did not stop, authorities said.

Alleged witnesses posted on social media that Robinson was allegedly driving in excess of 100 miles per hour in an attempt to flee from authorities.
