An award honoring a full-time faculty member who exemplifies a superior level of teaching was bestowed recently by Glen Oaks Community College.
The 2025 E.J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence was awarded to Sara Main.
Main is a member of the college’s math faculty. She first taught part-time at Glen Oaks from 1996 to 2008 and returned as a full-time faculty member three years ago. She teaches designed MATH-101: Quantitative Reasoning.
Main previously taught at Western Michigan University and Jackson College.
