MEA urges investment in education budget

Michigan Education Association is urging its members to remind state lawmakers about the need for passage of a quality education budget that invests every dollar possible in student success.

According to a MEA media release, details about what is included in the state’s 2025-26 fiscal-year budget remain unknown. While MEA officials are attempting to secure budget information, they are suggesting MEA members maintain their demand for an education budget students and educators need.

Benefits of an education-friendly budget include continuation of student mental-health support as well as free school meals, according to association leaders.
