Person rescued after falling through ice

Personnel from White Pigeon Township Fire Department rescued a person who fell through ice last week.

Department officials were called Wednesday morning to an area of Klinger Lake, where central dispatch received a report of a person in the lake.

Fire personnel managed to rescue the victim. Meanwhile, two other people who were on the lake with the victim managed to return safely to shore.

Details related to the age, gender and community of residence of the victim were not provided by authorities.

Department officials later posted a message on social media. They wished to remind the public that because of rain and recent temperature increases, ice conditions have changed and weaker areas on the water may be difficult to spot.
