Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased one-tenth of a percent between September and November.
According to Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, the state’s unemployment rate changed from 5.1 percent to 5 percent.
Employment fell by 6,000 between September and November, and the number of unemployed fell by 7,000, resulting in a workforce decline of 13,000 during the two-month period.
Wayne Rourke, Labor Market Information Director of the Center For Data and Analytics, said although Michigan lacked several key labor metrics for October, data for the period from September to November revealed continued trends of a declining unemployment rate and total labor force.
The state’s unemployment rate a year ago was 5.2 percent.
