Drug arrests made in Constantine

Two people were arrested on drug- and weapons-related charges in the village of Constantine.

According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, deputies executed a search warrant Tuesday at a residence in the 200 block of Meadow Lane following an investigation into suspected drug activity.

During the investigation, deputies determined that methamphetamine was being distributed from the residence. While executing the search warrant, deputies located methamphetamine and a stolen handgun inside the home, according to authorities.

A male and a female companion from the area were taken into custody at the scene. Both suspects were found to be allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and the stolen firearm, investigators said.

The suspects are pending arraignment on charges of operating and maintaining a drug house, possession of methamphetamine, felony firearm and possession with intent to distribute.
