Sheriff’s department arrests wanted man

A Burr Oak man was arrested last week as a fugitive in possession of a stolen firearm in Burr Oak Township.

St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded Wednesday to the 400 block of Burr Oak Road to a report of felony assault.

During the course of their investigation, deputies discovered that the suspect was wanted and was also found to be in possession of multiple firearms, according to investigators. One of the firearms recovered at the scene had previously been reported stolen, authorities said.
