Constantine municipal officials have reported details related to a recent wastewater spill.
According to a village-issued media release, the overflow was reported around 4 p.m. Friday at its waste-treatment facility.
The situation was corrected about 20 minutes later. It was determined the episode was associated with a malfunction involving the facility’s influent-control gates.
Village officials said the overflow was contained within on-site drainage areas and no discharge made its way to the St. Joseph River or surrounding areas.
An estimate of the overflow volume has not yet been calculated.

Not even a year and spilling.
How do they know it was contained if they don’t know the volume over several drainage sites?
Worse than that. Read the article in Penny Saver. Bad design, engineering, equipment, substandard staffing. Continuing factor dumps. After paying $14-17million? Spiked water and sewer rates. Now jacked maintence and operating costs. Scary.
