Kenneth Wayne Motheral, age 73, of LaGrange, passed away on December 29, 2025 at his home.
He was born May 14, 1952 in Centralia, Washington, son of the late Gail and Joyce (Morton) Motheral.
Ken had resided in LaGrange since 2005, having moved from Sturgis. On July 4, 1988, he married the love of his life, Sandra Kaye Callis, in Sturgis. She preceded him in death March 24, 2024.
Ken had been employed by Grumman Olson in Sturgis for several years. He was a past member of the Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 American Legion and the Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 V.F.W.
He enjoyed coin collecting, watching television, and always seemed to have a project he was tinkering with. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family, creating lasting memories with those he loved.
He is survived by his children, Erica (Brian) Bratton of LaGrange and Timothy (Ann) Suwarsky of Howe, Indiana; grandchildren, Camron Suwarsky, Aaron Suwarsky, Wyatt Ritter, and Kelty (Tyler) Clouse; great-granddaughter, Jaylynn Clouse; sister, Janet Sue Berry; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra; grandson, TJ Bratton; brother, Ronald Motheral; and sister, Sharon G. Moore.
In honoring Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A brief graveside service honoring his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Military honors will be conferred by the Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 V.F.W. and the United States Army Honor Guard.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is assisting the family with local arrangements.
