TR Lions Club names Citizens of the Year

Former owners of a local business have been named Three Rivers’ “Citizens of the Year.”

Bestowed by the Three Rivers Lions Club, the 2026 Bruce C. Snook Citizen of the Year Award will go to Jerry and Leslie Robbins. The couple owned and operated L.A.’s Coffee Café on West Michigan Avenue for nearly 26 years before retiring last fall.

The Robbins have been an integral part of the community, as L.A.’s was a social gathering point. They also gave back to the community through donated meals to Commission on Aging and free meals to first responders.

They will be honored by Lions Club members during a banquet May 26 at the Lions Service Center. Tickets are $30 each and available at Ridgeway Floral.
