Janice Maria Kretschman, age 67, of Sturgis, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the Orchards in Three Rivers. She was born in Sturgis on May 31, 1958 the daughter of Arden and Donna Drummond. Jan attended Sturgis High School and was part of the 1975 graduating class. She was a hard-working woman, working at places such as Coachman, Viking, and IAC; all the while working a second job as a waitress at your local restaurant and owning the Round Up in Centreville. As luck would have it, Don Kretschman would be seated in her section one day and the two of them were married in October of 2010.
Jan enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson, going for cruises down country roads and even venturing down to Kentucky a time or two. She was an avid NASCAR fan, keeping records of all the races, who won, who placed where, ect. Jan especially enjoyed it when Kyle Busch or Carson Hocevar finished in first place. She was a member of the billiards league in St. Joseph County, listening to all kinds of music, and shopping on the QVC Network. Jan was addicted to Pepsi, trying new recipes, and teasing her family. When Jan and Don both retired, she had mentioned that she would never wash dishes again….and she never did. Above all else, Jan had a heart of gold. She adored her family, making sure she always had gummy bears for her grandchildren. Jan was extremely proud of her boys and the men they had become.
Jan is survived by her husband Don Kretschman; four sons; Justin (Cheryl) Osbon, Jason (Lisa) Osbon, David (Courtney) Osbon, and Bobby (Elise) Kretschman; seven grandchildren; Sarah, Audrey, Jane, Decker, Connor, Merrick, and Grayson; three sisters; Lori, Chrystine, and Cindy; and many extended families and friends. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Arden and Donna.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation is being conducted. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date. Condolences and memories may be expressed to her family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
