Richard “Dick” A. Miller, age 89, of Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, died on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Greencroft Health Care Center in Goshen. He was born on September 18, 1936 in Valparaiso to Harley and Luella (Hostetler) Miller. On June 7, 1964, in Goshen, he married Becky J. Barnell, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Jodi (Jay Hochstetler) Miller of Goshen, Karla (Bryan) Smith of Three Rivers; four grandchildren, Tylan (Aimee) Coblentz, Brady (Samantha) Coblentz, Olivia Coblentz, Scott (Logan) Schrader, and four great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Marvin) Bontrager of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Yoder; brother, Donald Miller.
Dick was a member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, a youth leader at Forks Mennonite Church, and sang in the Crusaders Quartet. He was a farmer, drove school bus for 42 years, and was a custodian for eight years at Orchard View Elementary School. Dick was known for his unique sense of humor and was adored by his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 on Friday, June 19 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. The family will hold a private graveside service at Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau.
Memorials may be given to Goshen Hospice or Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
