Kenneth Roy Gorham, age 71, of Burr Oak, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by family who feel the deep sadness of his sudden absence. Born on October 4, 1954 in Battle Creek, Ken attended Battle Creek Central High School. His life was shaped by work, faith, and the kind of confidence that comes with knowing who you are and what matters to you.
Ken was most at ease outdoors, cherishing dawn or dusk on the water when he went fishing, and the stillness of the woods during deer hunting season. He found peace in the natural beauty of southern Michigan or sitting in his backyard with his wife, Cindy, accompanied by their dogs and chickens.
He drove trucks for nearly 30 years, proud to be part of the vital logistical network that keeps the nation moving. Before that, he worked in construction, learning each trade with respect for the craft. Ken was a loyal supporter of the Detroit Lions, embodying a fierce level of loyalty he also showed with his friends and family.
Ken’s faith guided him throughout his life, providing immense joy during the best of times and comfort in the days leading up to his passing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Gorham; his mother, Shirley Tanksley; and his father, Royal Gorham. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Gorham; his brother, James Gorham; his sister, Ann Gorham McCarthy; his son, Will Michaels; brothers and sisters-in-law; seven grandchildren; and a large number of brothers and sisters in Christ, all who will carry the memory of his low and steady voice, his animated sense of humor, and the distinct smile that lit up his face when he was in the company of his grandchildren.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on December 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Bridges Community Church in Centerville
