Sandra Leigh Jones, age 74, of Jones, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at South Bend Memorial Hospital after complications from a tragic fall.
Surrounded by her three daughters, family, and friends, she was lovingly cared for in her final days. She left this world boldly just like she lived it!
Born on October 1, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of Hollis L. and Beverly (DeHaas) Jones.
Sandy was raised in Beverly Hills, California.
Sandra, fondly known as Sandy, made her mark as the first female salesperson at Hayden Beardslee Ford, where she excelled as their top salesperson for many years winning awards and trips through Ford Motor Company.
A pivotal moment in her life occurred when a roll of fax paper fell from her office closet hitting her in the head, Leading to the discovery of retinitis pigmentosa causing the gradual loss of her vision.
Despite losing her driver’s license and facing challenges due to her eyesight, Sandy persevered and enrolled in medical massage school, allowing her to build a thriving business helping patients work through their pain.
Sandy and her daughter Rachel own and operate two locations under the name Sandy & Rachel’s Medical Massage Therapy.
Sandy was a visionary. Business and relationship building was her passion. Nothing was impossible.
She instilled her values, her strength, and her enduring beliefs in her children.
Sandy cherished her family; her daughters meant everything to her, as did her grandchildren. She had a passion for traveling, enjoying beaches, shopping, and hosting gatherings. A devoted Jehovah’s Witness, she was deeply committed to her faith.
She didn’t let being blind hold her back: she rode the Dial-A-Ride bus to appointments on her own, traveling to the grocery store, and everywhere the bus would take her. She volunteered at Three Rivers Hospital for several years, comforting patients and staff with her seeing eye dog.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Buffy (Kevin) Mallo, Heather (Scott) Carlson, and Rachel Jurgenson; her grandchildren, Ashley, Melanie, Michelle, Becca, Elliana, Caden, Richard, Kaleigh, and Emma; her great-grandchildren, Skyler, Lexus, Makenzie, Jason, Jaydon, Mya, Lincoln, Maeleigh, River, Wesley, and Kailani; and her brother, Danny Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A celebration of her life will follow at noon at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Shavehead Lake Cemetery.
Donations in Sandy’s memory may be directed to the National Federation for the Blind or to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
