We all have an expiration date and we have no idea when that time will come. I believe that our time of death is like the time we actually lose consciousness as we fall to sleep. It would be great to know what death feels like, however I don’t know how we would ever find out. There has been some research into this, and this is what I’ve found out so far.
— Death is more like slipping into sleep than anything painful.
— Hearing lasts longest – voices can still be sensed.
— The brain releases natural chemicals that calm the body.
— Time and senses distort – vision narrows, memories flash.
— The body temperature drops and the person feels cold inside first, then outside.
— Most people don’t feel fear – the body is too tired for panic.
— Breathing becomes slow, then pauses, then returns, then stops.
— People often report a floating feeling or detachment.
— Final moments are peaceful, not dramatic or painful.
I am still participating in my “Heart Healthy” sessions at the Beacon Wellness Center. I was corrected for referring to the facility as “Health Trac”. I’m feeling better because of the Cardio and Aerobic sessions. We have fun, though at times, a few members of the group become a bit of a disturbance. Megan has the patience of a saint.
I strongly recommend checking into becoming a member of the Beacon Wellness Center. It’s healthy and fun.
A bit of sad news. The woman who invented throat lozenges recently died at the age of 92. On the upside…there was no coffin at the funeral.
See you Out and About!
