Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Margaret “Maggie” Ellen Cole, age 66, passed away Thursday evening, February 5, 2026 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital after a short battle with cancer. She passed with her son and daughter holding her close.
She was preceded in death by her father, Racine Deeren, and her mother, Jessie Hanmer. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Cole; daughter, Amy Parrish; son in law Sheldon Hewitt, son Denny Cole, daughter in law Nikki Mate; sister, Dawn Deeren, and brother-in-law, Dominic Palumbo; stepfather, Gerald Diamond; stepbrother, Ryan Diamond; and her grandchildren, Andrew, David Lash, Dalton Cole, Damian Cole, Haley Hutchins, Dane Cole, and Dillon Cole. Also, her great-grandchildren, Cynthia and Olivia Cole, and her beloved puppy, Molly, the light of her life.
Maggie was born in Traverse City on January 10th, 1960, and lived in northern Michigan until her early teens, then moved to the Sherwood area for the remainder of her life. Maggie was a very hardworking woman. She spent many years working at Vanguard RV and Maxitrol, both in Colon Township.
Maggie spent her entire life in service of others. She loved to garden and always loved to be there to give a helping hand and a beautiful smile to whoever needed it. She was an amazing wife, mother, and friend and will always live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who was blessed with knowing her.
