Norma L. Cobbs, age 93, of Middletown, Ohio, and a longtime former resident of Sturgis, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 11, 2026, at Arlington Point Care Center in Middletown.
She was born October 25, 1932 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Sanford E. and Anna (Robbins) Kessler.
Norma resided in Ohio for the past 15 years, coming from Sturgis where she was a proud graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1950. She retired from Fujitec in Lebanon, Ohio, following several years of dedicated employment as a payroll clerk. Throughout her working years, she also held positions with Sturgis Tool & Die, the Village of Monroe in Monroe, Ohio, and Marty Hart’s Auto Body in Sturgis.
Norma found great joy in working with her hands and expressing her creativity. She loved all types of crafts and especially enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch, often sharing her handmade creations with those she loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Julie Anne Clark of Middletown, Ohio and Melissa Lynn (Lee) Crawford of Clarkston, Michigan; grandchildren, Michael Clark of Middletown, Ohio, Ashley Clark of Monroe, Ohio, Miranda Crawford of East Leroy, Michigan, and Zachary Crawford of Clarkston, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Emily Gibson, Ethan Bellamy, and Trey Bellamy; brother, Jay (Kathy) Kessler of Howe, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Doris Frohriep.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 18th, at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis, where funeral services celebrating the life of Norma L. Cobbs will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00. The Rev. Rodger Moyer will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
In keeping with Norma’s joyful spirit and love of color, guests are encouraged to wear something bright or cheerful rather than traditional black.
