Three Rivers Department of Public Services officials said the city’s twice-a-year hydrant flushing starts this week.
Department director Amy Roth said the process began Monday and will continue through May 25. Roth said the procedure will take place 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Due to many variables, Roth said the department is not able to determine the exact date crews will be in each district. However, with a new district order, workers will start in the city’s Third District, followed by Second, then Fourth and finally First District.
Roth said it is not unusual for there to be some rusty water experienced during the flushing process. However, prolonged problems should be reported to DPS at 273-1845.
