Here’s a reminder that the annual spring collection of household hazardous waste and electronics recycling at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds is less than two weeks away.
According to the St. Joseph County Conservation District, this year’s spring event will be on Tuesday, May 5th. The four-hour event will start at 2 p.m.
Items accepted include up to 10 free tires per county resident, hazardous waste, and electronics, including up to two TVs at no charge, laptop and desktop computers, and microwaves and televisions.
Other accepted items include cardboard, junk mail, newspapers, and magazine.
Prohibited items include explosives, glass, plastic, Styrofoam, refrigerators/freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners.
The collection will also accept latex and oil-based paint, and oil-based stain. There will be a $3 fee for latex paint cans.
The fall collection will be on October 6th.
