Alan C. Ake, Jr., age 48, of Burr Oak, passed away early Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, at the home of his mother in Sturgis.
He was born on September 3, 1977 in Sturgis, son of Alan C. and Marsha (Milliman) Ake, Sr.
Alan resided his entire life in the Sturgis and Burr Oak area.
He had been employed by Bigfoot Leveling Systems for over 15 years. Prior to joining Bigfoot, he worked several years at ACM Plastics in Sturgis.
Alan enjoyed bowling, but it was the river where he felt most at home. Whether casting a line or quietly paddling along in his kayak, he found a sense of peace and freedom on the water. The river was more than a pastime, it was a place where he could slow down, reflect, and simply enjoy life. Many of his most cherished moments were spent outdoors, surrounded by nature, doing what he loved most.
He is survived by his four sons: Brett (Alexondra) Ake of Bronson, Nicholas Ake of Burr Oak, Tyson Ake of Three Rivers, Maddox Ake of Burr Oak, and Jordan Gill of Bronson; granddaughters: Sophia, Braelynn and Octavia; mother: Marsha Davis of Sturgis; sisters: Angela (Mike) Malone of Sturgis, Lisa (Sean) Naus of Centreville, Mindy Price of Marcellus and Haley (Quinn) Kelley of Kalamazoo and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents Elmer and Rachel Ake..
