A 28-year-old man from Niles died over the weekend from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in Cass County’s Howard Township.
Sheriff Clint Roach said deputies responded shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday to a single-vehicle crash on M-60 near Lilac Avenue.
Investigators said a motorcycle driven by Jesse Maurer was northbound on M-60 when a deer struck the side of his motorcycle. The collision caused Maurer’s motorcycle to veer off the road and into a culvert.
Maurer was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
