Linda Lu Anderson, age 85, of Sturgis, died Monday, May 18, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1940 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter of Rex and Carol (Estes) Golding.
She was a Sturgis resident for ten years, after 28 years in White Pigeon with her husband, Dale. Most of her childhood life she lived in Keokuk, Iowa and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School and specialized in typing and shorthand; soon after landed a job with Libby Foods and eventually was promoted to Executive Secretary.
She married her true love, Dale D Anderson, on Dec 24, 1961, in the middle of a snow storm in Winterset, Iowa. She stayed in Des Moines while her husband served in the United States Army in Germany.
When Dale returned, they moved to Clinton, Iowa had two sons, Michael and Robert, and seven years later moved to Port Huron, Michigan. There Linda was the secretary for West Haven Baptist Church until they moved again to Grass Lake, Michigan, and she began working for the United Methodist Retirement Community.
They moved one last time for Dale’s job to White Pigeon where she was employed at First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, and later worked part time for Pace American with her son Michael, and then at Jayco.
She loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed rock music, doing promotional work for Mottville Speedway drivers and cruising Michigan Avenue in her red Firebird. She played guitar, drums, and liked to hang out with her sons during the basement band days. After retirement, she enjoyed motor-homing, playing video games, listening to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, and spending time with the grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her infant siblings, Eddie Golding, Karen Golding, her parents, her favorite aunt, Clella Estes and loving husband.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Carol) of Sturgis, Robert (Heather) of Jackson, grandchildren Christina (Drew) Hoffer, Hailey (Keegan) Whisler, Josef Anderson and Elise Houcek, Rachel (Sebastian) Gomez, Robert ‘Mitch’ Anderson and great-grandchildren; Peyton and Marshall Whisler.
The family will hold a private memorial prior to an interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
