Charles Louis Martin, age 95, of Forsyth, MO, died Saturday, January 16th, 2010 at the Forsyth Nursing & Rehab. Center. He was born in Monroeville, IN on October 30, 1914, a son of Charles N. and Orma (Roy) Martin. On November 13, 1936 he married Mary E. Colpetzer at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2007. Charles was a Professional Jockey.
Surviving Charles are his daughter Marjorie (Dennis) Sullivan of Pelham, GA, sons Charles “Ronnie” (Kathy) Martin of Pensacola, FL, Michael (Barbara) Martin of Manteno, IL, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sisters Ilene Schuster, Constantine, Lavon Faughnan, Angels Camp, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Mary Marcille Martin Edwards, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, White Pigeon, with Father Richard Altine officiating.
