Sonia Lee Huckendubler, age 74, of rural Three Rivers, died Friday Oct. 22, 2010 at her home following a six-year battle with cancer. She was born in Constantine on June 29, 1936 the daughter of Lester E. and Vivian (Caseman) Leister. She graduated from Constantine High School in 1954. Sonia was married to Clark Huckendubler on March 1, 1963 and they have made their home in the Mendon area since their marriage. She was a homemaker and always put her family first. She enjoyed flower gardening, doing arts and crafts, and fishing.
Sonia is survived by her husband, Clark; a son and daughter in law, Kurt & Wendy Huckendubler of Mendon; 2 grandchildren, Troy and Courtney Huckendubler; 3 sisters, Kathryn (Larry) Hill of Wawaka, IN, Tena (Rex) Bender of Midway, AL, and Sally Leister of Sturgis; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dola; and a brother, Lester.
Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday Oct. 29, 2010 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon with Rev. Karla Kauffman officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. A private interment of ashes will take place in Mendon Cemetery.
