George Elmer Johnson of Three Rivers, until recently a lifelong resident of Munising, has gone to be with his Lord and Saviour on March 9, 2011.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; brothers, Arvo, Wilho, Carl, Harry, Paul and Emil; sisters, Delia (Hans) Pelto, Lillian (Roland) Gearing, Anne (George) Sanders, Elsie Johnson and Martha (Donald) Montcalm; nephew, Donald G. Montcalm; niece, Janet Dicks; and great-niece, Diane Ruzylo. He is survived by his niece, Pamela (Terry) O’Rourke of Saline; niece, Debra Montcalm of Berrien Springs; nephew, Dave (Linda) Montcalm of Three Rivers; nephew, Robert (Judy) Pelto of Traverse City; niece, Delene (John) Cameron of Farmington Hills; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising at a later date.
