Carol Roberts, 73

Carol G. Roberts, 73, of Constantine, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Holly, Mich., a child of John and Dorothy (O’Niel) Armstrong.

On Sept. 20, 1954, she married Richard Roberts in Holly, Mich. They later divorced.

She had lived in the Constantine area since 1985 and was a waitress at The Country Table Restaurant in White Pigeon. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, gambling at Blue Chip and soap operas.

Surviving are three daughters, Deborah (Rod) Mead of Constantine, Christina (Terry) Nichols of Constantine and Anna (Fred) Hawkins of Sturgis; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Sears-Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Roberts; daughter, Julia Roberts; two brothers, John and Billy Armstrong; three sisters, June Schwartz, Dorothy Armstrong and Grace St. Claire; granddaughter, Patricia; great-grandchildren, Taryn, Page and Kyle and great-great-grandchild Brady.

There will be no visitation. Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church of Constantine with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating.

Memorials may be directed to the Messiah Lutheran Church. Envelopes are available at the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon which is handling the arrangements.
