Three Rivers municipal officials said a home-improvement chain has expressed interest in revisiting its plans to open a store in Three Rivers.
Wisconsin-based Menards is contemplating moving forward to build on land it owns on the south side of Broadway Road, just west of Big Lots. The company owns a 59-acre parcel and has had tentative plans for years to build a store at the site.
City officials were told the recession prompted Menards to think twice about its plan. Positive economic indications, however, have led to a potential revival of the plan.
The company’s plans call for a garden area and lumber yard on the store’s property.
Members of the city’s Planning Commission will be the first to review Menard’s plans at their Feb. 6 meeting.
