Ceremonial unveiling of refitted house

Friends and family members of Chandler McBride, the Three Rivers teen who was paralyzed in a swim pool accident in June, said the young man is due to be released from an Ann Arbor hospital within a few days.

A ceremonial unveiling of the house that is being refitted to accommodate McBride, his wheelchair and service dog, however, won’t take place until later in the month.

Family members said McBride his mother and younger sister will live in a hotel until the house is finished and awarded an occupancy permit. Once approval for move-in is given, friends and family members plan to stage a ceremony to welcome him to the newly rehabilitated, handicap-accessible house.
