Norman E. Webb, age 67, of Colon, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at his home, after several months of failing health.
Norm was born Feb. 1, 1945, in Sturgis, a son of the late Warren and Dorothy (Sager) Webb.
Norm lived most all of his life in Colon, where he had attended Colon schools.
On June 23, 1973, he married Gretchen Ullom in Kalamazoo.
Norm had worked as an ambulance driver in Ann Arbor, was a truck driver for Commercial Carriers in Detroit and as a security guard at Ross Laboratories in Sturgis.
Norm enjoyed looking for and collecting Indian artifacts, fishing, watching wildlife, especially eagles, and loved time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen, of Colon; three sons, Rob (Dory) Webb of East Leroy, David (Mary) Webb of Colon and Jeff Webb; a stepdaughter, Belinda McDougal of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren; a brother Steven Webb of California; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Lee Webb.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Norman E. Webb will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home, with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating.
Cremation will follow, with private interment of ashes at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Norm to Branch County Community Health Center Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
