The National Weather Service reports several funnel cloud sightings, including a tornado that landed near Goodrich High School southeast of Flint. No injuries were immediately reported. The weather service didn’t directly link damage to Tuesday night’s tornado sightings in Genesee County but says high winds in the same severe thunderstorm system heavily damaged several homes. It says winds toppled numerous trees and power lines. The weather service says a funnel cloud was sighted about 10 p.m. near Goodrich, touching down near the high school. A half hour earlier, it says winds knocked down a home about 5 miles south of Swartz Creek, roughly 15 miles west of Goodrich. Genesee County’s emergency center referred a request for information to Sheriff Robert Pickell, who was out surveying damage Tuesday night. (AP)
