Ron Drzewicki’s employment as superintendent of Mason Public Schools is official, as the district’s board of education voted this week to offer a contract.
The 50-year-old Drzewicki has served the past six years as superintendent of White Pigeon Community Schools. He was one of 23 applicants for the job as head of the 3,100-student district 15 miles south of Lansing.
A salary and other terms of his contract are still being worked out. Drzewicki earned $99,000 last year, while his predecessor in Mason was paid $110,000 for the 2013-14 academic year.
Drzewicki’s last day at White Pigeon is Friday. The district is in the midst of seeking an interim superintendent for the 2014-15 school year, which starts in 12 days.
