Man dies in Cass County crash

A 43-year-old Cassopolis man has died in a one-vehicle accident in Cass County’s Volinia Township.
Sheriff Joe Underwood said deputies were called around 1 a.m. Wednesday to Dutch Settlement Road, east of Lawrence Road.
Investigators said the vehicle was traveling east on Dutch Settlement Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
Deputies attempted to revive the subject but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identification of the 43 year old man will be released after notification to family members has been made.
The victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash; alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
