Vance Richard Arnett, age 79, Constantine left us early July 2nd, 2009 due to complications from a stroke suffered on June 17th. He was born in Battle Creek, MI on October 13, 1929, a son of the late John and Della (Vance) Arnett. He lived most of his life in Constantine and graduated from Constantine High School in 1948. He married Shirley Snow in September of 1950. As a Veteran he served in the Army with a tour of duty in Korea. Vance retired from Nibco in Elkhart in 1994 after 38 years of service. Vance enjoyed watching NASCAR and driving his 1963 Oldsmobile Holiday.
Surviving are his sons Randall and Erin (Sherrod) Arnett of Constantine, Richard Arnett of Tacoma, WA, longtime friend Ruby (Bonnie) Evans, Constantine, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and niece Ann Meade of Bellevue, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Guenther wife Shirley Arnett, daughter Vicki Lea Arnett and grandson Ronald Arnett.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 7th. Interment will be at the Shavehead Cemetery in Porter Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Constantine Fire and Rescue Dept.
