Sturgis traffic stop leads to arrests

Two people were arrested following a recent traffic stop in Sturgis.

An officer with the Sturgis Police Department stopped a vehicle for improper registration at 5 a.m. Monday.

The driver, a 35-year-old man, was arrested for driving on a suspended license and was wanted on a warrant for failure to pay child support.

The passenger, a 33-year-old female, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and charged accordingly, police said.

The location of the traffic strop and communities of residence for the two were not included in a department media release.
