County commission makes reappointments

Reappointments to three different panels were made Tuesday by the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners.

Sturgis-area resident Tracey Parker will serve three more years as an at-large representative on the Animal Control Advisory Board, along with Cathi Abbs of Sturgis. Abbs also will serve in the capacity of at-large member. The nine-member board still has one vacancy to fill.

The St. Joseph County Planning Commission will continue to include Ed Bell of Colon, Lon Huffman of Mendon Township and Joe Woodin of Flowerfield Township. They were reappointed to terms that will expire at the end of 2021.

Meanwhile, Sherman Township’s Steve Zarza will serve three more years on the county’s Parks and Recreation Commission. He will serve another term that begins Jan. 1.

Colon resident Edith Doenges declined reappointment, leaving the commission one member short at the moment.
